Providing homes and neighbourhoods where people want to live
This is our vision and purpose. It is focussed on the needs of customers and communities in Leith and North Edinburgh where we own and manage over 2,200 high quality homes. We are playing a major role investing in new and existing homes and in the ongoing regeneration of these areas. Our aim is to continue making a difference for people by providing more affordable housing, creating high quality places and delivering excellent services. Staff and Board members are passionate about their work and committed to providing high quality housing and neighbourhoods and support services. We have ambitious plans to extend this by building at least another 500 new homes over the next 5 years.
We have a strong track record and reputation in the community with customers and partners and intend to build on this with our clear, ambitious vision and plans for the future. However none of this can be achieved without the commitment of an experienced voluntary Board of Management to provide leadership and guidance, working with the Management Team to determine the future direction and monitor the performance of the Association.
To do this, we are always looking to strengthen our team with new Board members who have experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
We are looking for Board members who are able to share our values, contribute at a strategic level, and demonstrate a passion to support people and develop communities in Leith/North Edinburgh. You will have a good understanding of the complex and changing environment in which we operate and be comfortable working within a dedicated and established group.
Board members are expected to be available on average 1.5 days a month to attend a monthly meeting (held during early evening), as well as other events and training. Although the role is non-remunerated, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed and, as an Investor in People accredited organisation, the Association will provide training at no cost.
