Port of Leith Housing Association
The aim of the Association, sometimes referred to as a mission statement, is:
“To improve the quality of life in Leith by investing in housing to create a balanced, sustainable community which encourages social and economic inclusion.”
The Association’s Objectives are to:
- Expand its contribution to good quality housing in Leith by the construction, acquisition and improvement of homes
- Maintain a high standard of design, development, and management of housing provided at affordable rents
- Improve efficiency through economies of scale, joint working and the monitoring and review of performance standards
- Offer a diverse range of house types and tenures and in particular to continue to provide family housing wherever possible and practical
- Exploit the potential for developing the Association’s services in new areas, working with others to promote the economic, social and environmental development of Leith
- Contribute to Community Care by combining with others to provide suitable housing and services for those with particular needs
