Allocation Policy
8. The Groups Plus Points System
In selecting tenants, we use a points system based on groups according to the current circumstances of applicants. This is in line with good practice that recommends that an Allocation Policy should address a diverse range of housing need as well as considering applicants’ preferences as far as possible. A points system is an essential tool in a computerised system, which permits the shortlisting of priority applicants.
Each applicant’s circumstances are evaluated by giving points weighting their circumstances according to the degree of housing need placed on their circumstances by our Allocation Policy. We place applicants in six different groups according to their circumstances. These are:-
| Group 1 |
Homeless/Potentially Homeless |
