We can help you choose the best path to work

Let’s face it there are a lot of organisations offering training and qualifications these days.  With the Scottish Government offering money to us for education and the opening of the Individual Training Account to graduates, our brains have never had it so good.

Some of us know that it’s not that easy. Having the piece of paper is not enough. It must be the right piece of paper and on top of that you need experience too.

This can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Having a chat with someone independent who will ask all the right questions to help you figure out if you need that qualification or if there is another quicker, less exhausting, path to that job is always worthwhile.

That’s exactly what we can offer here at Community Works. We would look at what you want and what you need to achieve it. If you need a qualification or training, we can help you with that.  It does not have to be delivered by us, although we do offer a selection of courses.  More importantly, we offer the chance to talk to someone about what you want and the best way to get there, with or without training.

Community Works offers accredited courses in industry essentials such as First Aid, Health & Safety and Food Hygiene. We also offer top tips in how to create an impressive CV, where to look for hidden jobs and how to impress at interview.

For people who aren’t ready to enter work yet or who have other commitments, we can provide guidance on volunteering and confidence building.

We particularly welcome enquiries from Port of Leith Housing Association tenants.
