Anti-social behaviour can make life very difficult for people living in the area and we want to stop it whenever we can. If you are having a problem with a neighbour, try to discuss things with them first. They may not realise that they're causing a problem. It's important that you approach neighbours in a calm and open way and be willing to compromise if possible.
It may be that a friendly word will solve the problem. But if the situation doesn't get any better, or you're worried about approaching a neighbour, have a word with your Housing Officer - they may be able to intervene to stop things escalating. We will deal with any complaints in confidence. They can also refer you to SACRO, the neighbourhood mediation service.
If you are affected by anti-social behaviour, you should keep notes and a diary of dates and times when problems occur. If cases have to go to court then we might have to ask tenants who have complained to help us by acting as witnesses. Remember that you should call the Police if you are being threatened by a neighbour or if neighbours are causing a breach of the peace.
