Following negotiations with 3 landowners Port of Leith has now acquired this prominent gap site on Great Junction Street. The site was formerly occupied by an indoor market comprising stalls and a supermarket which was destroyed by fire in September 2000. The site has since been undeveloped due to complex ownership issues.
The development will consist of three, four and five storey high modern buildings incorporating commercial/retail units on the ground floor. The development will be constructed with a natural stonework elevation onto Great Junction Street. In addition there is secured car parking to the rear of the building with landscaped communal areas.
Work has already commenced on site anticipated to complete in the summer of 2013. In total there will be 32 properties and 340m2 of retail/commercial space. The mix of homes available is as follows:
• 5 x 1 bedroom (2 Person)
• 4 x 2 bedroom (3 Person)
• 11 x 2 bedroom (4 Person)
• 4 x 1 bedroom (2 Person)
• 8 x 2 bedroom (4 Person)
