PoLHA wins Scottish Home Award - June 2010

Port of Leith Housing Association (PoLHA) has won the Large Affordable Housing Development of the Year title at the Scottish Home Awards for its new development at Western Harbour.

The Goosander Place development, which was officially opened in June by Housing and Communities Minister Alex Neil, is the first affordable housing at Western Harbour.

Keith Anderson, Chief Executive at PoLHA, said:
"We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. This is a substantial project and will give many families a safe, modern and affordable home in a desirable area.

"This is our first development at Western Harbour and forms part of our vision for this new community and is an important part of the overall regeneration masterplan for the area."

The winners were announced at a ceremony at Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa on June 17.
