1. Careers at Port of Leith Housing Association

The Association’s voluntary Board of Management delegates operational management to its staff team headed by the Chief Executive, Keith Anderson. Our staff structure has three teams: Finance and Corporate Services, Property and New Business, and Customer Services, each headed by a Director. The Association currently employs over 80 staff including Sheltered Housing staff.

Health and wellbeing

Our aim is to make the Association a place where people want to work. We actively promote health in the workplace. All staff have access to an Employee Assistance Programme which offers confidential counselling for staff on a range of work-related and personal issues. In 2011, the Association received a Bronze award through the Healthy Working Lives scheme.

Positive about disabled people

Port of Leith Housing has been awarded with the Two Ticks disability symbol. This symbol shows that we are formally recognised as being “positive about disabled people.”

The symbol is awarded by Job Centre Plus to employers that have made commitments to employ, keep and develop the abilities of disabled. We are audited every year based on five commitments:

3. Board of management

Members of the Association can apply to become part of our Board of Management. The Board usually meets once a month to discuss Association business, and guide its overall direction.

Board Members are from a mix of backgrounds and professions which brings many different skills and viewpoints to the Association. For information on our current PoLHA and Persevere Developments Boards, please visit the who we are page.
